The Beginning
While ministering at a visiting church, Minister Sarah Jackson touch the heart of an elderly lady by the name of Vendosee Jackson. After the service Mrs. Vendosee came up to Minister Jackson and said to her, “Daughter, I feel the need to sit at your feet and learn.” That started a bible study in her home. At first it was just her and her husband, Prince Jackson. From that bible study, the Apostolic Life Center Church was born on September 1, 1983.
the Storefront
After a few weeks of having church in Minister Jackson’s home, the church elected her to be the Pastor. Now that the church was starting to grow, Pastor Jackson knew it was time to get in a building. With the help of Bro. Wesley McClain, Associate Minister, at the time, from West Helena UPC, ALC moved to a storefront in the middle of Marvell. After a few years of prejudice and persecution from the landlord, Pastor Jackson began to pray that God will build ALC a church. While she was praying God spoke to our General Superintendent, James Lumpkin, and told him to “Build Sister Jackson a Church.” Bro Lumpkin gathered men from all over the Arkansas District and on November 28, 1987, came down and built the Apostolic Life Center Church in One (1) Day!
The New Sanctuary
In 2005, God gave Pastor Jackson a vision to expand the church and the members flowed with the vision 100%. On January 26, 2006 we dedicated our newly remodeled and expanded Sanctuary. We have had many power packed anointed services and expect even greater.
Throughout the years, the power of God has been present to heal the sick, deliver the captive, and fill with the Holy Ghost.
